Walkround test recorded from the UHJ outputs of the microphone box in my front room, direct to a good quality if elderly Terratec EWS64XL PC sound card. The phone rang while doing this recording and I think this shows the startling realism that you can achieve with quite primitive equipment if you rely on real recordings for your spatial positioning rather than left-right panning of a mono signal. I have two phones one GPO model about 2m from the mic just right of centre and another Chinese copy Bell USA phone about 2.5 m away just right of centre back. The ringing loudness gives some impression of the sensitivity and noise level.
